The Frio County Extension Office as part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is a statewide educational agency and a member of the Texas A&M University System linked in a unique partnership with the nationwide United States Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative System and the Frio County Commissioners Court.

Mission

To provide a strong educational system and develop a strong economy that will prepare its citizens and its children for the future. Extension brings the resources of the Texas A&M University System to Frio County and through field-based faculty, Extension provides unbiased, research-based information, educational programs, and technical assistance in the following core service areas:

Upcoming Frio County Extension Programs

Southwest Texas Soil Testing Campaign:

Soil samples will be collected from October 16th through October 30th. Landowners must pick up soil sample bags, instructions, and forms at the Frio County Extension Office. Samples must be returned to the extension office for shipping. Routine Analysis: $8 and R+ Micronutrients: $15. (Cash Only)

 

10HR CEU Conference:

Conference will be held on December 1-2, 2025, at the Uvalde Research & Extension Center in Uvalde, Tx. December 1st will include topics regarding livestock/wildlife and December 2nd will include topics on crops. Program fees include $50- one day and $85- both days.
