Lee County AgriLife Extension: Serving Our Community Since 1874

Formed on April 14, 1874, from parts of Bastrop, Burleson, Fayette, and Washington counties.  The first County Extension Agent for Agriculture began in 1907, followed by the first County Extension Agent for Family & Community Health in 1933.

Today, Lee County AgriLife Extension continues to serve residents through education and outreach in three key areas:

4-H Youth Development
Open to youth ages 8–18 (grades 3–12), 4-H is more than just livestock! Members explore projects like shooting sports, food science, healthy living, robotics, fashion, and photography. 4-H builds leadership, citizenship, and life skills through hands-on learning.

Agriculture & Natural Resources
We support landowners and agri-businesses with programs in:

  • Pasture & Grazing Management
  • Livestock & Crop Production
  • New Landowner Education
  • Wildlife & Gardening Education
